A delegation led by Russia's Deputy Prime Minister, Igor Sechin, visited the facility to make an inspection and sign the certificate of readiness. The delegation was accompanied by Evgeny Dod, Chairman of the Management Board of RusHydro, and Victor Zimin, Governor of Khakassia, as well as representatives of energy companies, design and construction companies. The guests inspected the facilities of the spillway and witnessed the operation of the whole structure in full capacity.

Commissioning of spillway was preceded by pre-operational tests of the facility, which took place from September 28 till October 1, 2011. One of the leading Russian mining and metals companies, Mechel, won the 5th annual award of Minex-2011 forum in the nomination “For Successful Development of a Mining Industry Project”.

The award was granted based on the results of online open voting and the opinions of independent experts involved in the award committee’s work.

INTER RAO UES, General Electric and United Engine Corporation signed an agreement to establish a joint venture in Yaroslavl Oblast to produce and market high-efficiency 77 MW gas turbines with low 6FA emissions.

General Electric will hold a 50% stake in the JV; while INTER RAO UES and UEC will have 25% each. The Board will include two directors nominated by GE, one director nominated by INTER RAO UES and another one nominated by UEC. The nominated director by General Electric will serve as the Chairman. General Electric will also be responsible for operational management of the company.
