The new wind power station is placed in Blue Crick, a territory shared by the counties of Van Wert and Paulding, in the state of Ohio. The station is one of the biggest in the world and it has a power of 304 megawatts (MW).The station is equipped with technology developed by Gamesa, using 152 wind turbines of the model G90 (each one is 100 meters height and produces 2 MW power)

The Blue Crick wind power station created 20 permanent job positions, to add to the 500 hundred ones created during the construction stage, where 20 companies of the area collaborated.

According to Bloomberg, the Spanish telecommunications operator has announced their compromise to maintain their 3.000 million euros share in China Unicom, the second largest telecommunications company in China.

César Alierta, president of the Spanish company, announced In the Mobile World Congress that is taking place in Barcelona these days their intention of growing up in emerging markets like Latin America and China. Alierta declared, after a meeting with a China Unicom’s chief, that “The compromise with China Unicom is totally stable and we do not have any intention of abandoning it”. The National Securities Market Commission was informed by Repsol Sinopec Brasil that the company had found a new oilfield in the deep waters of the Campos Basin in Brazil.

The deep pool, so-called Pao de Açúcar, is located in the sector BM-C-33, in a 2.800 water sheet and it present two hydrocarbon accumulations with a 500 meter total height, one of the biggest heights found in Brazil up to now. First evaluations show that Pao de Açúcar contains high quality resources potential and excellent oil flow rates. Production tests scored 5.000 crude oil barrels and 807.349 cubic meters of gas daily.

Read Mobile World Congress starts today in Barcelona

Barcelona celebrates the seventh edition of the Mobile World Congress and it will be the first edition launched in the city since Barcelona was elected as Mobile World Capital last July. The MWC was first launched in Barcelona in 2006 with 51.000 visitors and the figure has been growing since then, so, this year it is expected to beat the record of 60.000 visitors.

It is estimated that the economic impact in the Mobile World Capital would reach 3.500 million euros between 2012 and 2018. The current edition of the congress will generate at least 275 million euros.

The Spanish region of Extremadura could soon turn into one of the World’s uranium producers if the encouraging results of the tests carried out by the Australian company Berkeley Resources confirm the mineral subsoil’s richness in the region.

The Australian company has done cartography works and drilling tests in four different mineral deposits in the Cáceres province and the first results were positive. More results and studies could confirm the existence of the mineral in the area.

The mining exploitation could be carried out if the Spanish administration issues the exploitation and environmental permits need to start the mineral extraction activities and the project shows economic viability.
